Why Choose Suma Coffee?
Most coffee on store shelves comes from dozens of farms, mixed together. You don't know where it's from. You don't know who grew it. It's just “coffee.”
Suma coffee is different. Here's why.
We Know Exactly Where It Comes From
Our coffee grows in one place: the VRAEM valley in Peru, high in the Andes, 5,500 feet above sea level. This is cloud forest country, where the mountains meet the Amazon. The soil is rich. The air is cool. It's one of the best places on Earth to grow coffee.
We Know Our Farmer By Name
We buy from one supplier we know personally. We pay them a fair price for his beans. There's no long chain of middlemen between the farm and your bag. Just us, him, and the coffee.
Altitude Makes the Difference
Coffee grown at high altitude grows slower. Slower growth means denser beans and deeper flavor. That's not a marketing line, it's basic agriculture. Our beans grow the hard way, at the top of the mountains, and you can taste it.
Two Roasts, Both Named for the Andes
• Cumbre (medium roast) — “Cumbre” means summit in Spanish. Bright and easy to drink.
• Cordillera (dark roast) — “Cordillera” means mountain range. Bold, with more body.
Both are roasted in small batches, so we can pay attention to every bag.
It's Personal
Suma was started by two friends, Ruben and Manuel, who have known each other since elementary school. This isn't a side project. It's something they built together, on purpose, the way they'd want it built.
The Bottom Line
When you buy Suma, you know where your coffee came from, who grew it, and why it tastes the way it does. That's rare. Most coffee can't tell you any of that.
